PRIVACY POLICY

01 · The short version

Free Play Mode has no user accounts and does not ask you for personal data to play. We do not sell your data. The information described below is what a normal website receives when you visit it, plus what our advertising and analytics providers collect through cookies. When analytics and advertising start depends on where you are: if your connection or your browser’s time zone indicates that you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, they do not start until you accept them in the cookie banner; everywhere else they start by default and the banner lets you turn them off. If you reject, anywhere in the world, no advertising script is loaded and nothing beyond what the site needs to work is stored in your browser.

02 · Data we process

Technical logs. Our servers record the usual request data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer and user agent. This is used to keep the site running and to detect abuse.

Preferences stored in your browser. We use localStorage and, where needed, cookies to remember your language and — for games that support it — your saved games and control settings. This information stays in your browser and is not sent to us.

Your cookie choice. When you accept or reject in the banner, we store that decision in your browser under the key fpm_consent_v2. It never leaves your device: it is what keeps the banner from asking again on every page. If you are in a region where advertising waits for your consent and you have not accepted it yet, each game page also asks before you play, always next to a Play without ads button that starts the game just the same; choosing there counts exactly like choosing in the banner. When you reject, we also store the date of that rejection under the key fpm_softwall_at, which never leaves your device either: it keeps game pages from asking again until at least 7 days have passed.

Your region. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, adds to every page an fpm_geo cookie holding the two-letter code of the country it infers from your IP address (for example, AR). It lasts 24 hours, does not identify you, and is only used for two things: together with your browser’s time zone, to decide whether analytics and advertising wait for your consent, and on its own to choose which network the ad before you play comes from.

03 · Advertising

The site is financed by advertising. Our advertising partners may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser to measure impressions and, depending on your consent and your region, to show you personalised ads. Free Play Mode does not share your name, email or any account information with them, because we do not hold any.

Our advertising partners are Adcash, HilltopAds, Adsterra and A-Ads. The Adcash and HilltopAds scripts run directly on the page rather than inside a sandboxed frame, so they have access to the content of the page they run on. Adsterra runs nothing on our pages: it only appears in the ad before you play described below. The A-Ads banners are frames loaded straight from A-Ads’ own domain: they run no code on our page and, being on a different origin, cannot read or change it. Before taking each one on we checked that they draw their ads inside the space we give them and do not replace or cover the site’s content.

Ad before you play. On each game page the button may read Open Ad & Play: pressing it opens an ad in a new tab, and the game is ready to start a few seconds later. The ad comes from Adsterra, with its own privacy policy, or from Adcash (its privacy policy is section 5 of its legal terms). The site automatically picks, for the country of your connection, the network that is currently showing ads best there, and now and then opens the other one to keep comparing them. It is a link that opens that network’s site, with its own cookies. Our page runs none of their code for this button and sends them nothing on its own, but opening that tab does hand the network your IP address and the address of the page you came from, like any link you click; that is why this button appears even when advertising is switched off. To compare the networks, each time the ad opens our server records the time, the country of your connection (as reported by Cloudflare) and which network was opened: it does not store your IP address or use cookies or any identifier, and these records are deleted after 30 days. It opens at most once every 10 minutes: with advertising on, that is remembered with a timestamp stored in your browser; with advertising off, nothing is stored and the limit only lasts while the page is open.

When those scripts load depends on your region: if your connection or your browser’s time zone indicates that you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, none of them load until you accept in the cookie banner; everywhere else they load by default. In both cases, if you reject they stop loading from that moment on and the advertising signals stay denied. You can also opt out of personalised advertising through your browser settings or through the industry opt-out pages of the networks involved.

04 · Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-B1H43T4RN7) to understand which pages and games are visited, from which countries and in which languages. The data is used in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address: it uses it to work out an approximate location and then discards it.

Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode v2. The signals always start out denied. If your connection or your browser’s time zone indicates that you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland they stay that way until you accept: no analytics cookie is written and Google only receives anonymous pings with no identifier attached. Everywhere else they switch to granted before the first hit, unless you have rejected. If you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell one visit from another. Google acts as our processor and may process this data outside the European Union under its own safeguards — see Google’s privacy policy.

You can withdraw your consent whenever you want from Cookie settings, at the bottom of any page.

05 · Embedded third-party content

Most games are embedded from external providers. When a game loads, your browser connects directly to that provider, which may set its own cookies and receives your IP address. Those providers act as independent data controllers and their own privacy policies apply.

06 · Retention

Technical logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised. Data held by advertising and analytics providers follows their own retention rules.

07 · Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because we do not operate accounts, we may need additional information to locate any data related to you.
