This page explains how we treat intellectual property on Free Play Mode and how to send a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

01 · About the content on this site

Free Play Mode does not host copies of commercial games on its servers. The titles in the catalogue are emulated and embedded from external third-party sources dedicated to software preservation; the game data is served by those providers, not by us. Trademarks, console names and game titles mentioned here belong to their respective owners and are used for descriptive purposes only.

A small number of homebrew titles with permissive licences are served directly by Free Play Mode and are identified as such on their page.

02 · Intellectual property

We respect copyright. If you are a rights holder — or an authorised representative — and you believe that content embedded on Free Play Mode infringes your intellectual property, you can request its removal by sending a DMCA notice to the designated agent listed at the bottom of this page.

03 · How to send a notice

For us to process it, your notice must include:

• Identification of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed.
• The exact URL of the content within Free Play Mode.
• Your contact details: full name, email and telephone number.
• A good-faith statement that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

04 · What we do with it

Where a notice is complete, we remove the reported page or embed from Free Play Mode promptly. Because the game data lives with the external provider, we will also point you to that provider so you can request removal at the source.

05 · Counter-notification

If you believe content was removed in error, you may send a counter-notification with the equivalent information. We will review it and, where appropriate, restore the content within 10 to 14 business days.
