40 Winks sends siblings Ruff and Tumble into their own dreams to defeat the nightmare-summoning villain Dr. Grimwood, collecting stars and solving puzzles across whimsical dreamscapes drawn from their bedroom's furniture and toys. Its dream-and-reality theming and colorful platforming gave it a distinct identity among late-90s collect-a-thon platformers.
