About Ace Combat
Ace Combat is the Japanese release of Namco's debut entry in the franchise, launched overseas as Air Combat, built as an original mission-based flight combat game rather than a direct port of Namco's 1993 arcade combat-flight cabinet, which PlayStation hardware couldn't reproduce. Every later entry in the series reverted to the Ace Combat name worldwide, leaving this one game with a split regional identity.
