Baroque Syndrome

Baroque Syndrome is a static text-and-illustration visual novel rather than the roguelike hack-and-slash of the mainline Baroque games, adapting a prequel novella by Mariko Shimizu to depict the society that existed before the catastrophic Great Heat Wave reshaped its world. It stands apart from the rest of the franchise as pure narrative, with none of the tower-climbing or combat the series is otherwise known for.
