Dance Dance Revolution 3rd Mix introduced the opening video and announcer voice that the series would keep through 5th Mix, alongside the first BEMANI crossover branding and a caution screen warning about vigorous movement. It also let players switch between Basic, Another and SSR difficulty mid-selection rather than committing before seeing the song list.
