Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 threw out the two-minute clock and let you roam each level freely, turning the series' floating objectives into conversations with NPCs and chains of goals that unfold as you explore. The revert, which lets you cancel a landing into a manual, made it possible to link a grind, a vert trick and a rail into one continuous line for the first time. Levels are larger and busier than any before it, built around discovery rather than a checklist.
