Wipeout XL

Wipeout XL (released as Wipeout 2097 in Europe under a different name split) pushed the original's anti-gravity racing further, adding new teams, faster ships and tracks built with enough width and elevation change to reward genuine racing lines instead of memorised turns. Weapon pickups turn every race into a running fight for position, and the combination of drum and bass licensed tracks with the Designers Republic's stark visual style gave it an identity that outlasted the console generation it launched on.
