About Breath of Fire III
Breath of Fire III was the series' first entry with 3D pre-rendered environments beneath its 2D sprites and full voice acting, and layers in a master-and-pupil system where dragon-boy Ryu learns new skills by apprenticing under various NPCs across the world. Ryu can also genetically absorb enemy abilities into customisable dragon forms, giving shapeshifting real mechanical depth rather than a cosmetic transformation.
