About Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1)
Final Fantasy VII's first disc introduces Cloud Strife and the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE as they fight the Shinra Corporation's exploitation of the planet's life energy, mixing pre-rendered backgrounds with 3D character models across sprawling city and world environments. Its blend of cinematic full-motion video sequences and turn-based combat helped push the series, and RPGs generally, into mainstream Western popularity.
