Hexen: Beyond Heretic ports the dark-fantasy first-person shooter to PlayStation, letting players choose between a fighter, cleric or mage, each with entirely different weapons and playstyles, across interconnected hub levels rather than a simple stage-by-stage progression. Puzzle-solving and backtracking across those hubs give it more structural depth than the straightforward corridor shooters it followed.
