About King's Field
King's Field runs its dungeon-crawling action-RPG entirely in slow, deliberate first-person, an early PlayStation attempt at real-time first-person combat rather than the turn-based battles most RPGs of its era relied on. Its oppressive, maze-like level design and unforgiving pacing set the template FromSoftware would later refine into the Souls series.
