About Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid sends soldier Solid Snake into a nuclear-armed Alaskan fortress, popularising stealth mechanics like hiding in shadows, knocking on walls to lure guards and sneaking past cameras rather than confronting every enemy head-on. Its cinematic codec conversations and fourth-wall-breaking moments helped push the stealth-action genre and video game storytelling into new territory.
