About Xevious 3D-G+
Xevious 3D-G+ reimagines Namco's foundational vertical shooter with polygonal, pseudo-3D terrain scrolling beneath the ship instead of the original's flat sprites, while keeping the dual-fire system that made Xevious historically significant, a separate button for air-to-air shots and bombs aimed at ground targets. It plays as much like an archaeology lesson as a shooter, showing how one of the genre's earliest hits could be dressed in mid-90s polygon technology without losing its identity.
