Descent Maximum builds on Descent II's engine with thirty-six entirely new levels made specifically for the console rather than porting the PC campaign, adding controller-tuned handling, pulse light-sourcing effects and a new Guide-Bot companion that offers AI assistance through the tunnels. More than thirteen weapons round out the last and most console-specific entry in the PlayStation Descent line.
